(The connections of all things must be valued and highly regarded)

Booch ji-apiitendaagwak in Ojibwemowin (The connections of all things must be valued and highly regarded) is a descriptive study that emerged between the Fond du Lac (FDL) Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Environmental Program division and the University of Minnesota. Through participatory research methods like talking circles, semi-structured interviews, and participatory mapping exercises, the purpose of the study is to learn and document how FDL tribal community members value and relate to wetlands. Identifying these cultural wetland relationships will help FDL’s Environmental Program Division staff center community values and stories in wetland stewardship proposals.
